When to audit before you reprint

A refresh order feels productive. It can also laminate yesterday’s mistakes onto stronger stock.

Audit first when

• Nobody remembers who wrote half the pencil notes
• Devices outnumber register lines
• You inherited the shelf from someone else
• Labels show different handwriting styles with no legend

Reprint first when

• The book is clean but a few faces are damaged
• A planned rotation is already documented
• Location codes still match the room

A Register Audit ends with a findings note, not a sales push. Sometimes the note says your book is fine and you only need six new labels. That is a successful afternoon.
