Label Guide

A practical sequence for building an offline wallet tracker before adhesives and binding begin.

This guide mirrors how we brief clients before a Custody Register Commission or Labeling Studio Session. Adapt the codes to your shelves; keep the discipline.

  1. Inventory without nicknames first. List each device by physical trait and storage spot. Add nicknames only after duplicates are impossible.
  2. Choose location codes from architecture, not boxes. Shelf letters and row numbers outlast cardboard. Write the code on the register before the label.
  3. One legend, one ink rule. Black for active, another colour for retired-but-retained. Never overwrite; strike and date instead.
  4. Label the sleeve and the device. If one mark fails in humidity, the other still ties to the address book line.
  5. Leave blank lines for rotation. Crowded pages encourage margin chaos. Commission extra leaves if your desk rotates often.
  6. Seal a photo of the opening pages. Keep it separate from seeds. Use it only to rebuild after damage—not as a daily tool.
